Installation of fiberglass bumpers:

Tools you’ll want

Jack and jack stands.
Socket set, screwdrivers, trim tools.
Painter’s tape, marker, measuring tape.
Drill with small pilot bits and larger bits.
Clamps or vice grips.
Fiberglass-safe sandpaper, and a repair kit in case of cracks.
Brackets, bolts, washers, and/or automotive adhesive if the bumper kit needs them.

Park on a flat surface, disconnect anything that could be in the way, and safely raise the car if needed.
Remove the old bumper cover, including wheel-well fasteners, under tray screws, clips, lights, sensors, and any liner pieces blocking access.
Hold the fiberglass bumper up to the car and check where it hits, where gaps are, and where it needs trimming or sanding.
Mark problem spots with tape or a marker, then trim small amounts at a time until the fit is close.
Clamp the bumper in place and line it up evenly with the fenders, hood, and body lines
Mark mounting holes only after the bumper is sitting correctly, then drill pilot holes slowly to avoid cracking the fiberglass
Install brackets or use the factory mounting points if they line up; some installs need custom metal brackets or reinforcement pieces.
Bolt the bumper on loosely first, check alignment again, then tighten everything once the gaps look right.
Reinstall lights, sensors, liners, and any support pieces you removed.
Inspect for rubbing, loose edges, or stress points after a short drive, then recheck the fasteners.

Drill slowly and use pilot holes, because fiberglass can chip or split.
If the bumper does not match the body shape, you may need relief cuts, extra brackets, or slight reshaping.
A heat gun can sometimes help the material relax a bit, but use it carefully.
If the bumper cracks, repair it with fiberglass cloth/resin before final finishing.
